Oorja wears feminie energy from a time before.
With energy and vitality from the Sanskrit root “Urja”
meaning energy, power and sunlight.

Encapsulating a holistic view of energy,
Oorja encompasses the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions
of the individual.

This E.P came to me when I surrendered to the moment
during the pandemic.
A time where I found myself stranded while caring for others.

Waking up one morning
heading to my musical equipment
almost in trance,
Set up
Sat down,
The first thing I heard
was the morning birds
singing their song.

So I sang along with them.

Sang meaning recorded an acoustic guitar.

This became “Chidiya Gaana” - Bird Song.

The following day - “Lahar Kee” - Waves
was recorded in almost identical fashion.

In my naivety
I almost expected the third day
to produce a new song.

There wasn't.

I began forcing ideas
that all sounded
rubbish.

Days later,
it rained.
I woke up and went to set up my equipment.

As the rain fell outside
it released a memory in my mind
that I had already recorded this song
years prior
while in a similar state.

And there was “Varsha” - Rain.

It was a meditation process
that came about
by surrendering to feminine energy
and allowing the vibrations of sound
to come through the vessel
of my mind, body and soul.

A journey that is on going.

So it became an instrumental meditation E.P.
